Mom found this little journal while straightening a table in her studio this morning.
She always buys herself a new journal for her Christmas stocking . . . and she was
putting all her journals in order. This can turn into a long time of looking back ~ after
all that is what a journal is for! She found this page . . . a color plan from her very
first rug camp ~ Star of Texas ~ the rug was a design for her grand daughter Kirstin.
It is called "I'll do it myself! . . . and so she did" ~ based on the story of The Little
Red Hen. You can see a small sketch at the bottom of the second page.

This pattern called Winter Is A Blast is taken from one of Mom's inkings that are seen scattered throughout the pages of The Wool Street Journal.
Mom hooked this a few years ago and we sold more of this pattern than any others at Sauder rug show a couple years ago. You too can order this rug from gwoolikers.com. or call Tina ~ 706.273.0757.
The border shown here is a wool fabric back ground using dyed wool roving and the method of needle felting. Detailed instructions are shown in back issue ~ January 2010.
A great seasonal rug that is fun year around!
