SQUASH SOUP

Mom and I have been hooking "Squash Soup" for a class that we are teaching in San Antonio Texas at Country Gatherings owned by Tricia Travis. We did not see each others rugs until they were completely color planned so not sway each others color palette. It was so fun to see what wool we chose to put into the rug! We are looking forward to teaching once again at Country Gatherings and can't wait to see some of the ladies we have grown attached to and made great memories and friendships with, and of course can't wait to meet new friends as well. Still a couple openings call Tricia to join us:

This is will be the last time that mom and I teach together, blinking hard to clear the tears from my eyes. Mom is pushing me out of the nest and teaching me to fly on my own. I will miss teaching with my mom but thankful for the INCREDIBLE memories I have with her! I will hold them close to my heart and treasure them forever. Thank you and I love you mom!

I got a sneak peek of the April 2011 WSJ it is is fabulous!

NO, I don't get mine early for being the daughter of the editor, although I think I should.

The cover is a rug that hangs on my mom's wall in her home. I have 2 sisters that I will have to compete with to add it to my collection, not an easy task. I remember watching mom hook on it, and each time she finished a berry or a leaf I wanted to run my hands over it. I can't wait to get my magazine and find some quiet time to turn the pages quickly to see what is in it and then go back over each page slowly and read each page to be sure not to miss a thing. I have a special place that I keep all my WSJ's and go back to them frequently to get the creative juices flowing.

I know you pour your heart n' soul into each page of every magazine and it shows!

My Heart Takes Wings

I HEART YOU!

This is a pattern my mom designed and I loved hooking it! It was one of those weekend hooking projects that I did while my husband watched football. It always works out well because we can be in the same room and enjoy being together while we do what we enjoy.

After I finished hooking I turned it into a pillow. I went and bought an inexpensive down pillow and cut the pillow down to the right size and sewed a seam and then stuffed it into the pillow. As you can well imagine I had feathers EVERYWHERE! I leave out year around on the guest bed.

BE MY VALENTINE!

Thank you Lord for the spring season, boy am I ready for it! I know all my friends in New York are ready! With this cold weather we have been having across the land I can picture all the birds nestled down in their nests and the bunnies cuddled up tight to their mommies trying to stay warm. Here in Georgia the sun came out to warm things up a bit today, it felt good on my face when I went outside to walk around the yard, which I had not done in weeks. It wont be long until we see buds on the trees, plants and new life all around. Until then I will try to stay content with the cold weather and enjoy my hooking knowing there are no weeds to be pulled or dead heading to be done. Stay Warm my friends!

My sister Tricia is visiting from Colorado Springs, Colorado and we are enjoying our time together!

So much to do in such a short time, visits are never long enough! I have put down my hook and replaced it with taking her to some of the cute shops in the area. How do you decide which to buy a cute shirt or a lamp that is to die for??
